This is even more so important during this time of COVID-19 where our management of patients and healthcare workers determines the mortality and morbidity of the population. In this course you will learn what causes infection, proper hand hygiene techniques, how to clean, disinfect and sterilize medical equipment and devices, principles of IPC and how to apply them to COVID-19 and safety in phlebotomy (letting or giving blood and blood products). Pharmacovigilance (PV) relates directly to drug safety. It is the science of collection, detection, assessment, monitoring, and prevention of adverse effects with pharmaceutical products. In this course you will learn the steps and requirements for carrying out pharmacovigilance, you will differentiate between side effects, adverse effects and adverse events, the various parties involved in PV and their roles and data management. This course will take you through the development of clinical guidelines, how each member of the clinical team has a role to play in rational use of medicines, establishment of medicine and therapeutics committees and the importance of national essential medicines list. Rational use of medicines contributes greatly to ending the scourge of antimicrobial resistance.

Resource mobilization refers to all activities involved in securing new and additional resources for your organization. It also involves making better use of, and maximizing, existing resources. This training seeks to provide an overview of the wide range of resource mobilization strategies that organizations employ to ensure adequate and sustainable resources. Rather than being a training focused specifically on fundraising campaigns or on deep skills building around a particular approach such as proposal writing, the training looks at what makes organizations successful, and works with participating organizations to look inward and begin to develop and implement successful resource mobilization strategies. The training is meant to provide a solid foundation for an organization of any size and capacity level interested in strengthening its overall resource mobilization strategies and skills.
